Laser Therapy
Low Level Lasers
Tri-States Clinic utilizes state of the art equipment to quickly eliminate your discomfort and more importantly give you the tools so flare-ups are less likely. The cutting edge technology used includes:
Tri-States Clinic offers cutting-edge technology with the Erchonia PL5000, the low level, non-invasive laser. Surgical lasers are the most common types of lasers in the medical field today. They are used to destroy, cut, and cauterize tissue. The low level lasers used at our clinic actually speed recovery, reduce pain and accelerate bone and wound healing. The first of its kind to be approved by the FDA, the Erchonia Low Level Laser (LLL) has a proven track record for healing, recovery and performance. This technology has been used by Jeff Spencer. A completely painless therapy, the LLL is applied to the affected part of the body for up to 50% faster recovery time.
In addition, Tri-States Clinic now has Ultra Violet Laser. This laser is especially effective for skin conditions including: acne, scars, and peripheral neuropathies.
The Erchonia Laser
Erchonia means “Healing Light” in Greek. It is a red 635nm; 5mW max laser with a line-generated laser beam. The laser is used for various therapeutic purposes. The laser is ideal for treating large and small areas of the body. The line generated beam allows us to treat an entire muscle, muscle group, or to treat the patient from head to toe to connect and stimulate neurological function.
Treatment Time
When using the Erchonia laser, treatment time is dependent on the severity of the injury. Treatment time can vary from 10 seconds to 90 minutes. The important thing to remember is that the Erchonia is a low level laser and will not burn or damage tissue. The usual treatment time is between 30 and 120 seconds. In general the more chronic the problem, the longer you can treat an area. Research suggests that using a low level laser like the Erchonia will regenerate damaged nerve tissue when used 90 minutes per day.
Pain and Range of Motion
There were two studies performed for chronic neck and shoulder pain treated with the Erchonia laser. The results of the studies were very promising because they showed that by using the laser alone, pain was significantly reduced and ranges of motion were increased in patients with chronic neck and shoulder pain.
Erchonia Percussor is a deep tissue massager that has many benefits in the treatment of acute and chronic injuries. When used in conjunction with the low level laser, the percussor helps reduce scar tissue formation in acute injuries and breaks up scar tissue that is commonly present in chronic injuries. Another benefit is release of superficial fascia in conditions such as plantar fasciitis. The percussor improves blood flow and encourages lymphatic drainage which will improve recovery time from injuries. This device has adjustable speeds so that it can be adapted to the comfort level of the patient. The percussor is a wonderful tool that soothes sore muscles and is often a favorite therapy treatment for the patients at Tri-States Clinic.
