Official Team Doctor for the Dubuque Bruisers
Growing up in Davenport, Dr. Souder learned firsthand the benefits of chiropractic care. Her father made sure she had regular visits to the chiropractor for her severe neck pain. Not only did it help her pain, it became her passion.
Dr. Souder is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts, Western Illinois with a Master of Science and a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. During an internship program at the Pettibon Institute in St. Cloud, MN she learned how to restore curves using specific techniques and exercises. Dr. Souder then began work at a multi-disciplinary clinic in Appleton and Green Bay and was introduced to chiropractic neurology. Intrigued by the possibilities of chiropractic neurology, she began taking courses at the Carrick Institute and then studied applied chiropractic neurology with the Erchonia Medical Institute and continues education on the latest techniques and procedures, including the use of low level lasers.
Dr. Souder also specializes in athletic injuries. She is a regular contributor to the Telegraph Herald’s Ask An Expert column, is a proud member of the Dubuque Chamber of Commerce and The Doctor's Speaker Bureau. She has been featured in the Telegraph Herald and on KDTH's Voices of the Tri-States.
Alix graduated in 2010 from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Science with an emphasis in Health Coaching and Wellness.
Upon graduation Alix worked in a fitness center where she provided personal training and nutrition counseling. Her knowledge of muscle function and rehabilitation was effectively used educating and supervising clients through the exercise and nutrition programs designed to fulfill their specific health and fitness goals.
Alix began working for Dr. Vicki Souder in the fall of 2010. Under the direction of Dr. Vicki, Alix coordinates all therapies for muscle rehabilitation and many other neurological conditions. Many of the therapies heal tissue quickly, reduce muscular pain, and improve muscle performance.
Melanie graduated from Loras College in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education. She worked for a number of years as hostess and server at two locally owned restaurants where people skills and multitasking were a must.
She was employed at Mercy Medical Center supervising employees in the nutrition department. While there, she gained a lot of knowledge regarding specific diet requirements for various health conditions and the importance that nutrition plays in what can be for some patients a critical role.
Melanie also worked for several years at a local financial institution serving customers both in person and through the call center that enhanced her people skills and financial knowledge.
